Pret a Manger chicken and mushroom soup

The spoon drifted into the liquid slowly like a hippo in quicksand, indicating some real density. This was a handsome soup with more than a hint of leek and potato about it. Juicy button mushrooms were the star attraction here adding a rich earthy taste to this otherwise fairly plain and creamy offering. The chicken looked fresh off the roast and on reflection there was plenty to go around. At this point I struggle, while the soup ticked the necessary taste boxes, there's little else to say about it. Highly palatable but nothing special.
This is sick person soup, if you're coming down with a cold, like many of my fellow office workers and want something to fight off the keyboard blues then this is for you. If you're after bold tastes then try something else.
